Summit Outreach Testing and Diagnostic Services

 

‘Summit Outreach’ offers extensive diagnostic services to families in the metropolitan area. We evaluate both children and adults. We offer testing, tutoring, speech/language therapy, and consultative services. Each service is offered by qualified experts in their respective fields.  This service is offered as an additional service to the community by The Summit School®, a school designed to serve bright students with dyslexia and other learning differences in Edgewater, MD.
 
About Summit Outreach Testing Services:
 
Questions leading to an evaluation:
 
  • Do you suspect that your child is not keeping up with peers?
  • Is your child frustrated with homework?
  • Are you suspicious that something just isn’t right with your child's academic progress in reading, written language, math, and/or overall organizational skills?
A comprehensive set of standardized tests measuring:
 
  • Cognitive patterns of learning
  • Achievement in reading, math, spelling, and written language. 
  • Memory functions and processing speed
  • Speech and language foundations for academic learning
 
The Process
 
A complete evaluation begins with a conference with one of our specialists. The evaluation consists of two or three sessions of testing, each one taking several hours, to thoroughly assess the student’s need. A detailed written report and conference completes the process. The final report is a roadmap for the parent to help guide them and the student’s school to help them meet the needs of the student.
 
Testing options: Targeted testing in reading, math, and speech/language are available as well.
