Tuition alone does not cover the full expense for a student to attend The Summit School. As an independent school and nonprofit organization, Summit operates without the financial support of local or federal taxes. Summit relies on the generosity of our community to make up the gap between expenses and revenue from tuition and fees.
While we may adjust tuition each year, the tuition that would be necessary to fund our current level of education would restrict the number of families who could afford to attend. This would limit enrollment which, in turn, could mean a cutback in programs and the quality of education that our families have come to expect. Like all strong independent schools, Summit must request extra financial support from our community for our everyday needs to keep Summit running smoothly.
Yes. However, unrestricted Annual Fund gifts provide Summit the most financial flexibility. Many generous donors have established endowment funds to provide financial assistance and support special initiatives at Summit. Please contact the
Development Office if you are interested in funding a specific need.
Many outside organizations, such as foundations and corporations, look at the rate of participation when making funding decisions; a high level of participation from parents, alumni, board members, faculty, and staff is a sign of confidence in the school. Each year we strive for 100% participation. High levels of participation build community and inspire others to give.
Many companies will match charitable contributions by their employees, so that your gift may be worth double or sometimes even triple its original amount. By asking your company to match your gift to The Summit School, you can maximize the amount of your donation while your company helps to support a worthy cause.
